AGE OF EMPIRES II TEAM GAMESHow to analyze an AoE2 team game.
Team games are not just several 1v1 matches played at once. Army choices, age timings, production and pressure need to be read together to understand how each player contributed, whether allied roles complemented one another and where the team lost efficiency.

01Army composition
Compare what both teams actually produced, not only total army value. Ask whether the unit lines counter the opponent, cover allied weaknesses and stay useful as the game moves into later ages. In a team game, a support unit can be valuable because it protects an ally's main damage line.
02Age timings
Feudal and Castle timings show when each player converted economy into new units and technologies. Compare timings across allies, but keep their roles in mind: a pocket and a pressured flank may have intentionally different transitions even when the team plan is working.
03Production and economy
Military production value and resource use help distinguish an army plan from sustained execution. Read totals with match duration, age progression and composition instead of treating the largest number as automatically better. A strong plan still needs continuous production to create pressure.
